Going didgital tv, what antena.?

Hi, i wonder if anybody can help please? When our local mast goes didgital in a few weeks, will i need a special kind of ariel to use use the freeview + box i was given as a gift? or will the aerial i have had for years on my roof recieve digital pictures? Or do i need a digital aerial? Thanks in advance Meurig
