Is Mario Kart Wii 90% a game of luck?

90% skill, 10% luck. Go online, play a few races. After each race, it shows order of finish and VS rating of each player. You'll notice that the higher rated players finish at the top, and lower ones near the bottom. Not exactly in order every time, but pretty darn close. Luck is what happens once. Skill is what happens 90% of the time.
