How to stop coughing!?

im with you on this. Im a smoker,,,,are you? I went to dr 2 weeks ago and told her i was constantly coughing and that i felt like breathing was harder to do. she claimed i was getting 99% my oxygen and said the coughing was coming from drainage. She gave me a antibiotic shot....an antibiotic to take for 6 days and some cough meds...well 2 weeks later im still hackn and sick of it too. I honestly think its cigarette smoking with me...i had went to see her to get meds to help stop smoking but she couldn't give me any cuz of my cough...so now i guess im just stuck in between coughing and not having the strength to quit smoking on my own. I have 3 kids... cigs are a comfort for me and im highly addicted.
