Should i invest in a PDA & foldable keyboard?

I'm planning to take notes for school and i'm wondering if i should get that or a laptop, but i really don't want to carry a laptop around to just use it as a note taker. how much would it cost to get a PDA and foldable laptop or about how much? and which kind should i get, and is there anything else i will have to buy?
